These colorful woven bracelets are like a more sophisticated version of the ones you used to make for your friends at summer camp. Interestingly enough, the friendship bracelet actually has its roots in traditional Central/South America handicrafts, where they’ve served not only as symbols of friendship and social status, but also as political statements, often worn by protestors—which, in Bolivia at least, makes them one of the most common accessories around.
