The daughter of Sindhi actor Hari Shivdasani, Babita would enjoy a brief career before marrying Randhir Kapoor of the famous Kapoor family, whose tradition forbids its women from acting in films. The marriage didn’t last long, and when Babita left she took her daughters with her. Those daughters, Karisma and Kareena Kapoor, would go on to break what seems to us like a pretty unfair family tradition by becoming two of the most famous actresses of their generation. Meanwhile, 20 years after separating, Babita and Randhir are back together.
