The Fulani, nomadic herdsmen who maintain populations in many countries throughout West Africa, know a thing or two about keeping warm on cold winter nights. Spun from sheep’s wool and possibly cotton, the Fulani blanket or khasa, is heavy enough to shield you from the elements, while also offering protection from the great hordes of pesky and possibly malarial mosquitoes. We purchased this lovely, cream-colored blanket from Mr. Maciere Toure, who hails from Mali, where there’s a strong Fulani presence.
