borders between Morocco, Algeria, Mali, Libya, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria. With
an economy built off of trade and livestock breeding, the Tuareg are so
familiar with the varying landscapes of the Sahara desert, they know it as many
deserts, not just one. With caravans transporting everything from ostrich
feathers, to salt, and leather covered-wooden bows, the Tuarag people call all
of the Tinariwen, meaning "the deserts," home.
