Neetu Singh began her career at the age of 8 under the name “Baby Sonia.” A sizzling dance number in the 1973 film Yaadon Ki Baarat would see her offered numerous other roles, usually as the "fun-loving daughter" or the “optimistic/lively girlfriend." She would appear in 11 films with the actor Rishi Kapoor, whom she would marry in 1980, at the age of 21. Though she was by all accounts at the peak of her career, Singh would retire after tying the knot, denying allegations that she was abandoning the screen in keeping with the custom of actresses who married into the famous Kapoor family. After 27 years, she recently made a comeback in 2009, appearing opposite her husband in Love Aaj Kal and Do Dooni Chaar.
