  Ghanaians have a knack for turning the merely functional into works of art, and sign painting is a great example. The streets of Kumasi are awash in colorful hand-painted signs advertising everything from barber shops to traditional medicine men; the best are so eye-catching that you have to stop and look, if not patronize the businesses they promote.
