  Then there’s our photographer, Marcela Taboada, who hails from the neighboring state of Puebla, but has lived in Oaxaca since 1986. So, we asked her, are you in? Do they consider you Oaxacan? No, no, no, she laughed, shaking her head. Even after 28 years she’s still “the girl from Puebla.”
